Born in Rhode Island
Rhode Island is where I started my hiking at a young age. I find that if you want to know your way around somewhere you must get out there and walk it. Never walk with your head down, there is too much to see around and above you. That is why I put out my tweets "So you know Cinque Terre?" These little things I post are right in front of you and not many people spot them. I have been living here in Riomaggiore for over 10 years now and love it. There is a certain beauty in this area that just reaches out and grabs you. I want you to experience this while you are here and I am willing to share it with you.
I have trekked some big mountains in East Africa, up to 20,000 feet and also trek a lot in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. In Cinque Terre it is on a much smaller scale, but still challenging. I have traveled the world, and have a love for food and wine. While we are on our trek we will get a chance to talk and I have plenty of life stories to tell. By the end of the day we will know more about each other and have made new friends. I want to point out things that people miss and to become more aware of Cinque Terre's history. The beauty of Cinque Terre is very special to me and even the locals know this. As we walk through the village you will notice that I am well known from the young to the old. You will be part of this as we walk and talk on our journey here. I started coming here over 20 years ago and I have seen many of the changes of Cinque Terre. I also trek by myself in the late fall to early spring, checking on the trails. I keep posting up to date on Twitter, my Facebook and web site. So come and meet up with me and take a wonderful trek together.
